GeM Seller Registration

Sell to government departments through the Government e-Marketplace.

Reviewed by CA Hitendra Pal Singh· company law, tax and complianceLast reviewed

Public procurement runs through GeM, and a seller account is the only way in. Registration is free, but the profile has to link PAN, Udyam, GST, a bank account and the authorised person’s Aadhaar correctly, and OEMs in many categories need vendor assessment before they can list. We set the account up so the first bid is not rejected on paperwork.

What is included

  • Seller account creation and authorised-person verification
  • PAN, Udyam, GST and bank linking
  • Product or service catalogue setup
  • Brand and OEM listing guidance
  • Vendor assessment coordination where required

What we will need from you

  • PAN and GST certificate
  • Udyam certificate
  • Aadhaar and mobile of the authorised person
  • Cancelled cheque
  • Certificate of Incorporation or equivalent

How long it takes

Typically 3–5 working days for the account; vendor assessment longer.

Timelines are typical, not guaranteed. Government processing times vary, and a query from the officer adds to them. We will tell you where yours stands.

Common questions

Do I need Udyam first?

Not strictly, but MSE sellers get purchase preference and exemptions, so we register Udyam first if you qualify.
