What lapses, and when
A company holds more things with expiry dates than most founders realise. Miss one and the first sign is usually a rejected filing or a blocked shipment.
Below is every renewal we see businesses forget, how long each lasts, and how far ahead to start. The Kompliance Factory app tracks these for you with a reminder before each date and a one-tap renewal request.
| What | How long it lasts | Start renewing | Renewed by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Digital signature (DSC) | Two years from issue — Class 3 | 30 days before expiry | Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) → |
| Trademark | Ten years from filing; renewable in the last year | 180 days before expiry | Trademark Renewal → |
| FSSAI licence | One to five years, as chosen at issue | 45 days before expiry | FSSAI Food Licence → |
| IEC annual update | Confirm every year between April and June, even with no change | 30 days before expiry | Import Export Code (IEC) → |
| Trade licence | Usually one year; renew before 31 March in most municipalities | 45 days before expiry | Trade Licence → |
| Shop & establishment | One to five years, varies by state | 45 days before expiry | Shop and Establishment Registration → |
| ISO certificate | Three years with an annual surveillance audit | 60 days before expiry | ISO Certification → |
| DIR-3 KYC | Every year by 30 September, per director | 30 days before expiry | ROC Annual Filing → |
Validity periods are the statutory defaults. A licence issued for a shorter term, or a state with its own renewal cycle, follows its own certificate — read the date printed on yours.
Never chase a renewal again
Add the date from your certificate once in the app and it reminds you before each renewal, with the request a tap away. Or tell us what is lapsing and we will handle it.
